Hello Hello! Can you believe that this is my last week here at the MTC? Next Monday I'll be on the plane towards my destiny, a destiny that has a duration of 2 years ^u^. So I'll would like to wrap up Week 8 for you all.
Monday
This day wasn't too special. It was P-Day, so we took a spiritual break throughout most of the day. That night, however, we taught another lesson to a Khon Thai. It was miserable. We had a hard time understanding the member because of bad Internet connection, plus our terrible knowledge of Thai didn't help either. Eh... But, practice is practice.
Tuesday
This day wasn't too special either. Probably the biggest highlight was going to the Tuesday Devo, where the speakers, Grace and Michael, talked about how our trials help strengthen us and how we are just like Ammon, one of the greatest missionaries in the Book of Mormon and how his origin reflects ours. The speakers are originally from the Philippines.
Wednesday
Today wasn't too special as well... One of the missionaries from our Branch was having some emotional struggles, so most of us tried to help that missionary out as much as possible.
Thursday
This day was a fun day. We finally finished Operation Lion a.k.a. stuff a bunch of boxes within boxes and the very last (mail)box contained a very funny scripture from 2 Nephi. It was really funny.
Today, we learned more about consecration, that as long as we try our hardest to find, help, and baptize others while staying worthy and obedient, God will bless us with the opportunity to do so.
We also got to see Leah again this day. She had this special Easter activity, where she had these 12 eggs and a children's story book, and within each egg is a symbol from the Resurrection and events that happened before it. It was fun. We were then able to talk more about Christ and hear her testimony about it. It was a really good missionary experience.
Friday
So this day was our first day teaching nccng Dom (Sister Painter). It was a good lesson but it rather took a lot of time. That is something we need to improve on. Our teacher, Brother Thrap, wasn't feeling so hot last week, but he was able to recover and be there for us to have 3 of our 4 pairs of missionaries interview Phii Chaang (Thrap) for baptism. He's getting baptized 3 times on Saturday . We also got to paint Easter eggs with Leah this day. It's super fun. I tried to paint a Pikachu egg, but being in the MTC for so long, I kinda forget some of the details, so I had to change it to look like a weird picture of myself. It was kinda scary looking.
Today we got our Travel Plans!!!!!!!!! So the Phii Thai flew from Utah to LA to the awesome Tokyo Japan and then to Bangkok. Their Phii Thais flew from Utah to Hong Kong to Bangkok. And guess what for us? We get to fly from Salt Lake to.......................................................................................................................................................... Minneapolis!!!! Yep, it's like I never left home. We leave on the 13 of APR.
We leave Salt Lake at 8.30 AM.
Reach Minneapolis on 11:59 AM
Leave Minneapolis on 1:10 PM
Have a super fun 22 hour flight to Bangkok and reach there on 10:45 PM on the 14.
Woot!!!!!!!!
Saturday
General Conference Weekend! Some of my favorite talks were from Eyring during the Sat Morn session. He talked about the power of fast offerings and how it helps others throughout the entire world. It helped me realize that I shouldn't really being fasting for myself in order to feel the Spirit more abundantly, but we should fast for others to feel the Spirit in times of trials and struggles they are facing. I also loved Uchtdorf's talk in the Priesthood Session. It talked about how we should not produce a false image of ourselves and just be true to who you were are. I just felt like the entire emphasis on this day was about marriage and families, which felt weird to me at first because I'm a missionary who can't date or be married in these next 2 years and I'm away from my family, but whatever.
Sunday
So..... new temple in Bangkok....who cares right? EVERYONE CARES! For the past 2 weeks, we were wondering if Thailand will get a temple because we received an email that Thailand only needs 300 more members with temple recommends in order to start building the temple. And the VERY LAST temple Thomas S. Monson mentioned happened to be that. I was super happy! Our 2 Thai districts were really happy that they accidently shouted in glee in front of all the other missionaries and the MTC presidenary. Lol. Sudyaad! My favorite talks from this day was Holland's and Uchtdorf's. Their talks were truly special to me.
In the night, instead of our usually Sunday Devo, we had this BYU acapella group called Vocal Point come and sing to us. They were really good, and their rendition of Nearer My God to Thee was sudyaad!
That's all for this last week. See you all next week.
