Hello Hello. How are you all doing? Here's another update about my week.
Monday
P-Day again. After studies, memorizations, and emails, our district went to Seacon, trying to find DQ chocolate flavored ice cream and some watches. Afterwards, Elder บูมี and I taught ซ. นอ้ย and ซ.นอ้ย with บ. ประจัก, each about the Gospel of Jesus Christ along with Law of Chastity and Word of Wisdom. They are both really good investigators. Afterward, we had FHE at บ.ตอ้ง's again, which consisted of dinner and sharing a message.
Tuesday
Today, we went out for some Swenson's again. After that, we went inviting at the streets, where we met some potential investigators. After that, we went back to the church because a member from Bangnaa wanted some English pamphlets for an essay. Luckily for us though, she had brought in a friend for us to teach. His name was Calvin, and he's a college foreign exchange student from Zimbabwe who only spoke English. So we taught him the Restoration in English, which felt really weird for me. But, he was really interested because he had some Christian roots as a child but had never really went to church. The Asoke missionaries will have to help him from this point onward because they are part of the international ward. Afterwards, we taught English.
Wednesday
Today was a new experience for me. I went on splits with Elder Arne, one of the two Zone leaders. So him and I traveled to สะพานสูง (saphaansuung/ "Tall Bridge"). The church over has a huge parking lot and backyard, which is weird because the actual church building is somewhat smaller than the one in Srinagkharin. There, we taught บ.วน (won) for like 2 hours, which is really long. He came in with a long list of questions he wanted to be answered. So we answered the first one with the Plan of Salvation, which really sparked his interest to the point of having a goal to be baptized. This situation of much different from our next appointment with a elderly woman whom Elder Arne gave the Book of Mormon to her, shared a 3 min message, and asked her to be baptizied. She said yes . After that, we invited at Big C with Elder Davenport and Elder Slavs( can't remember the full name) and also at a market. Then we ate dinner at Uncle Mustache, which consisted of Chicken Steak, French Fries, 4 pieces of sliced carrots, and a half slice of bread with garlic sauce on top. Afterwards, we returned to Srinagkharin with Elder Boonmee and our district headed to a flower shop for a small get-together with the members because the Bishop's daughter had returned after being sealed at one of the temples in Hawaii with her husband Craig, a returned missionary who served in Brazil and BYUH student. We had the Thai version of Khabuun, watermelon, ramuthans, and Fanta.
Thursday
Today we did our weekly planning along with House finances. Then we invited over at SeaCon. Then sports night, where we played a mean game of badminton to the point of developing holes within my socks. Then, we had dinner with the members who served us Ant egg sacs. It wasn't the most pleasant experience.
Friday
Today we taught ซ. นอ้ย the Restoration. She was pretty chill with it. She really just wants to follow Jesus Christ and become a member of the Church. She is the coolest. Afterwards, we went to a get-together with the adults of the wards, having dinner and helping a new investigator become more acquainted with the ward. I then shared a message from Ether 12:4
Saturday
Today was coordination meeting with S. ฟ้า and B. สู. After that, we visited a member who was sick at the hospital. Her name was Sister Jemma. She's originally from the Phillipines who had worked in Taiwan for many years of her life. I'm not so sure why she's in Thailand though because she only speaks English and Mandarin. She had 2 symptoms with her kidneys at the moment, she has approved. When she feels better, she going to go to New Zealand for new job. After some inviting, we had back to the church to remember people to come to church, when all of a sudden a Hindi Couple comes in, asking to take a tour of the church and to check a Jesus statue. I think they were looking for the wrong church. We were able to give them a few pass-along cards with the Easter videos and church websites, but they weren't really too interested at that point. Another interesting story was that this one random Christian not of our belief comes in, asking where our "prayer room" was, went inside our freshly painted and very smell, perhaps toxic sacrament room, prayed for 5 mins with the knees on the ground, face fully planted to the floor, got up, and left. That's about it.
Sunday
Today, we got to watch a special Asia Conference Broadcast, which was completely dubbed in Thai, so I didn't really understand anything. Then, we taught S. นอ้ย and S. กิฝท์กฏ (GiftGoat?) about Tithing and Fasting. After a small lunch, I went with Elder Visser to visit S. แนน (N33n/) and B. ปอส์ (Boss) house to share a message for them along with their dad, mom, and B. วุต(Wud), their uncle and also an investigator. Afterwards, we went back to the church to teach B. โต (too "Doh")'s friend who now has a baptismal date. Then, with Elder Boonmee again, visited an LA.
That's about it for this week. Hope to see you soon. Pictures in the upcoming emails.
