Hello Hello! How was everybody's day today? Here's a rundown of what happened in this previous week!
Monday
Today, the only thing significant is that we traveled to อโสก to get some suits cut. You can actually find and get really high-quality suits for under 200 dollars, 3 piece and all. All custom-made and everything.
Tuesday
Today, we traveled to the Mission Office for our last interview with President Senior before he jets out of Thailand. There, I got to see some of my buddies from the MTC, Elder O and Elder Dickey, plus some other familiar faces. After that, we returned to ศรินนรินทร์ to teach B. แบนก์ the Plan of Salvation. After that, English
Wednesday
Today, we had the opportunity to teach two new investigators, S. พัก (Phak, "Vegetable") and B. กบ (Gob, "Frog"). They are a married couple, where they work at a restaurant as a couple. They are really interesting in learning and willing to follow the commandments. Their only concern is that the husband works as the bartender, and is worried that it might have to test its content for customers. But we reassured him that if he'll say no, customers will accept it. On a side note, apparently there was some gang fight in my area because as I was riding on the สองแถว (essentially a pickup truck), there was this small explosion sound along with gunshots, and as we preceded to go through there, there was smoke in the air and the bus station, usually filled with people, was completely empty as everyone was running away. Besides that, nothing else to exciting happened.
Thursday
Today, we had Zone Conference. We heard talks from other missionaries of the Bangkok East and North Zones. We learned a lot more about what truly is hope, which is hope in Jesus Christ and his Atonement. Then, we received some training on how to be more effective missionaries and to find concerns in others and to resolve them. Then, we got some Ice Cream!!! Woot! Then, the Seniors presented a slideshow about some stuffed that happened during the mission as the mission president and sister to the president. Then, we returned to play some wicked badminton.
Friday
So.............. turns out that an investigator that we have been teaching for about a month turns out to be a Less-Active member. This person was a member for 4 years, but because of a lack of friends in a small Branch and of work, they stopped going. He wanted to tell us sooner, be the first time we met him, he had a Muslim friend over. The second time, we brought the bishop with us, so he was too scared to tell us. But this day, he admitted he was a member and knows how to pray and knows about the 4 books and the temple and everything. It felt like a M. Night Shamalayadingdong plot twist. After that, we visited the home of S. ธนพร and taught about the Restoration. Then, Book of Mormon Class.
Saturday
Today, Elder Boonmee had to go to this meeting, so I went on a switch off with Elder Morley. He's my พี่'s พี่, but he speaks really good Thai because he had Khon Thai trainers and companions. With him, we invited and got to teach this person B. สั็น, who sadly was only interesting in learning English than learning about Christ.
Sunday
Today, after church, we got to see B. เพชร, S. กาน's cousin, again. Before, we didn't think he was interested because his cousin kinda forced him to learn from us. But after reading on the Book of Mormon on his own and praying, he received a witness that it was true. So remember, the Book of Mormon and the message of the Gospel within it, along with the Spirit, is what truly converts people. So remember that kiddies.
So that's all for this week. I only have one thing to say....
HAPPY BDAY MOM!!! (6/14). Technically, it's a late bday message, but it's still good over in the States! Woot!
Anyways, have a good week everyone!
