Sorry we haven't been working on Elder Chanthakhoun's blog. We've been quite busy. He is doing well and loves the people of Thailand. We will try to update his blog every week.
Hello Hello! How are you all today? I've decided to end Pics of the Week because I can't find any funny pics anymore.. Oh wells, I'll like to share this week's experience.
Monday This P-Day, we went to Central to buy some new fancy pens because they are fancy and awesome. After that, we went to Ngaan May, a special market event in Khon Kaen, where I was able to purchase some more fabric. After P-Day, we finished the rest of weekly planning that we never got to finish. Tuesday After updating some records, we had our District Meeting, where we talked about priorities and to see what Khon Kaen needs to grow. We finalized that we needed to help members have more unity and to help the LAs get back to church. After that, we invited at Ngaan May for a bit and then met with B. Songwud. We taught him about the Priesthood, Service, and Church. We are almost done teaching everything but he still struggles with coming to church. Hopefully, a Christmas miracle will happen with him. After that, we taught some English! Wednesday Today, we went to visit an investigator, B. Brasid, at his house... 1 1/2 hours away from the church. We had to take this giant Songthaew all the over there. When we reach him, he gave us a little tour of his village and farm. Then, we sat down with him to teach the Restoration. A few days before we gave him the Restoration Pamphlet to read and now he basically understood every concept. Awesome! After that, B. Brasid had to deliver some oranges to his nephew's school, so we went with him and had E. Daybell deliver it to the children and I standby on watch because racism. It was a really cute moment. One of the kids kept calling E. Daybell a French man. That village is a really nice village. After that, while we were waiting for the next Songthaew to pick us up, we had a little chat with B. Brasid to get to know him a bit more. He's actually from Bangkok, but his parents are getting old so he is helping them out a bit. He's interested in learning from us because he wants something new in his life. So, we will give that to him. Once we got back to the main amphur, we visited S. Praew and explain baptism through our awesome drawing skills. She's gonna get baptism this Sunday! Thursday We met up with S. Noy again to see how she was doing and such. She explained how she wasn't praying so much and how she has no way to get to church. We explained that she needed faith in Christ to overcome her fears and worries. After that, we did some weekly planning and then visited B. X at his house with his wife and his friend, B. Nick, also a member. We reviewed the 10 commandments and the Law of Chasity and Word of Wisdom. Then, we visited B. Uu's family to review with his 9 year-old son, B. Bank, the Restoration. Then, we played UNO with them as a family. Friday Friday was the Bike for Dad event, a special event for Fathers and for the King as well. So, we went with a member and traveled for quite a bit to bike 20 km with children and adults of that Tambon. It was really fun and E. Daybell got to show off to all the Thai children because awesomeness. Then, we went back to the main city, studied a bit, and then visited B. Ta, a member here. He got to know him a bit and then shared a message about the Restoration. After that, we had Book of Mormon class, with basically no participants because the traffic caused by Bike for Dad. So, we basically had good discussion about the Catholic church with the Senior Couple here, E. and S. Lyon. Saturday We met with S. Noy again to teach about the 10 Commandments. I think I helped her feel more welcome with us and not with her problems because I drew really high quality and absolutely-not-stick-figures drawings of the 10 Commandments. Then, we went to Khon Kaen University again to meet with B. Moss again and to really get to know him a bit better. It was a really good discussion and then we got to share a message about the Restoration. Then, we visited with B. Songwud again to present a message about prayer and how to rely on it for strength against stress. Sunday After church, S. Praew was baptized. Hooray!. I was a speaker for her baptismal service so I shared a little parable I wrote because I had nothing else to do in Personal Study. It's about a kid and his toy airplane. I might type that up for you all. After her baptism, we watched the recent Christmas Devo. I really liked President Uchtdorf's talk with the dude and the wheelchair. Brace the Generous One! After that, we visited B. Peterson to see how he's doing and to provide the sacrament with him. Also, his son served in Cambodia and knows a super strong family over that helped build the church in Thailand. He said that once Tina gets to Cambodia, she can get a free meal or two with them. That's all for this week. Transfer's coming this Thursday, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to stay here. Have a happy 12 days of Christmas this Christmas season! Good luck Tina at the MTC! Peace out. |
