Hello Hello! Here's the rundown of what happened on Week 14
Monday
This day, I was able to Skype to my family. It was a little hard to understand what they were saying, but they were all super excited to talk to me. My mom was super excited that I was able to talk to her in Thai for a little bit, even though I still don't have a grasp on the language yet. But I'm getting there. So I talked about stuff here and there, and they did so as well. After that, I got a haircut, got some supplies, and went to S. แนน's (N33n, Naan?) house for FHE, where Elder Boonmee and I told the story of Noah through shadows and patterns under a flashlight for something the kids can enjoy.
Tuesday
Nothing too exciting this day. After teaching English class, a member named S. วิว (Wiw, "Weuw?") called us and wanted us to teach her something about the gospel. She was a member here in Srinagkharin, but went to อโสก (Asoke), for school and then fell inactive for about 5 months. So, we shared Ether 12:27 with and talked about faith and weaknesses.
Wednesday
For District meeting, we watched a video from our mission president, President Senior, about how we should get more baptisms and about some of the miracles that happened here in our mission. We apparently got a shout-out for our 14 investigators that showed up to church. After that, we met up with S. วิว again and read 2 Nephi 31 to help her embrace the gospel a bit more. After that, I went to the Lamb Chops... I meant Sheep into Shepards meeting.
Thursday
This day marks my 1 month annivesary for being here in Thailand!! Woot Woot! Bought 200 บาท worth of dried มะม่วง (mamuang, "Mango"). Today, as we were trying to exchange Elder Boonmee's pants for bigger ones, we visited a Sister at Seacon. I'm not sure if I explained her situation yet, but I'll tell you now, but need to have an open mind about it. She's not a member and she wants to be, but she currently isn't following the Law of Chasity by living with her boyfriend and doing boyfriend/girlfriend things. But the thing is, she's kinda forced to do that. She's from Cambodia, and only has the opportunity to come to live in Thailand and work to support the family through the boyfriend's money. The thing is though, he's not the greatest dude. In order to be baptized, she needs to either be seperated from him, or marry him. If she leaves, she has no way to support herself and her family, and will then force to return to Cambodia, which at this moment is not the greatest place to live right now. If she marries him, she'll have to live with this person for her the rest of her life. She's only 20 right now and has only 2 decisions: To be baptized through separation and leave Thailand, or to marry this person and to live a miserable life with him as a member. It kinda sucks. Sadly, this happens a lot in Southeast Asian. Currently, she is planning to be married and to be baptized. Afterwards, we returned to the church to play some sports. น้อง แพ็นเค้ก (Ph3nkheeg, "Pancake"), daughter of S. กาน, was really having with the missionaries. That crazy little kid.
Friday
Today, we went to Chaengwattana to renew Elder Boonmee's visa. That government office is huge and spacious. It was crazy cool. There, I got to see my good old MTC buddies Elder Garner and Sister Mags, along with my พี่ไท's Elder Liaga and Elder Neal. After that, most of us went to KFC: Asia Edition for lunch. Apparently, restaurants such as KFC, Swensons, McDonald, and Burger King are like delicacies here. After that, we returned to the church to participate in Book of Mormon Class.
Saturday
Today, I got to participate in the Stake Primary Sports Day here in Srinagkharin. Wards such as อโสก, สมุทรปราการ came over. Here, I helped the kids play things like relay racing, tug-o-war, bicycle racing, basketball, soccer, etc. After that I got to eat stuff like พัดไท (Pad Thai) and ข้าวเนียวหมูปี้ง(Sticky rice with barbecue pork) and Ice cream. After that, the ward decided to use the tug-o-war rope as a jump rope and we all jump roped.
Sunday
B. วุด, an investigator from the other companionship, was baptized today! Woot!!!!! After that, I help prep some preparations for something special. After that, we visited investigators B. นัด and B. Mike. They are here in Thailand to learn Muay Thai or Thai marital arts.
That's all for this week. Cya again next week!
